Challenge of the Strange City

Challenge of the Peculiar City

I have gazed upon the sprawling Eldritch city. I have seen the damned spires, stabbing the highest cloud, reaching up from unknowable depths. I have peered into those yawning voids , diving down further than the oozing, distorted sunlight could illuminate.
No doubt, the pits may fall to the very core of the earth, or someplace deeper still...
I have pondered the strange buildings which crowd around, suffocating narrow alleys, choking them to nothingness. I have crossed bridges carved from the surrounding rock, spanning impossible chasms dotted with structures clinging eerily to the sides, looking as though at any moment they may shake free and plummet for eternity or crawl upwards and take to the sky. Deep within the city and in the very walls around me there began a slow scraping and scratching, as if from wrought-iron claws. It built quietly as I wandered this cursed city. As the last of the sunlight disappeared I saw blood red moonlight begin to reflect from the rock faces of the deep, glistening slowly with an oozing perspiration whose origin I care not to think of, though I feel I know. I heard a wind howling though this place furiously through the heinous architecture, racing down into the voids as if the city were some massive abomination yawning violently as it awoke. I heard rocks shift, and a slow rumbling begin, and I understood what was happening.
The city was searching for me. I knew it sensed my intrusion and felt it reach out to every alley and arch looking for the one who dared enter this desecrated place. I felt the cacophony around me grow, and knew the city had found me. It called out in a hellish onslaught, telling of my doom in this blasphemed place. It called with a howling, scraping, gnashing and crushing force to me.
And I called back:
Come at me bro”
